Climate of the place where you reside has impact on the selection of your pet bed whether it is for your dog or any other pet animal. - The bed should also fit in the Airline approved dog carrier so that it can be carried conveniently.
Dog beds come in multifarious shapes and sizes. The may be round, square, donut, coddler or of any other shapes. However, the most important factor in selection would be the habit of your dog. It the dog has stretching habits then the conventional dog bed would be better. Otherwise you can go for any of the designer dog beds of your choice.
