Traditional terminal vs. Wireless terminal - a critical overview

For processing credit card transactions at your shop or business place you will require a credit card machine that will perform the task for you accurately and speedily. However, when you go for buying one, you may have to take a decision about using the traditional terminal or the wireless version of it.

Traditional credit card terminal uses a magnetic stripe reader that reads data from the card swapped through it or the information typed in. There is a keypad and a tiny display screen. The printer may either be in built or attached externally. It is your choice which one you would use.  Either way the impact on your business will not be much.

For specific types of business the wireless credit card terminal proves to be very useful. Metered vehicles like taxi and auto, seasonal shops having temporary locations and many others can use and process credit cards with ease and convenience with such a device. It will not be necessary for them to set up immediate connections through dial up or broadband lines and they can access your account during processing of cards by remote sensing.

Thus for permanent establishments, you may find the regular credit card machine with direct connections more convenient since the wireless terminals may be a bit expensive for long term uses. For temporary and spot purposes the wireless credit card machine would the more convenient option since the higher charges for a short duration will not affect your business prospects adversely.
